Amazon.com Brian Setzer's Dig That Crazy Christmas is proof that behind every rockabilly hepcat is a big band leader. Mixing originals with seasonal faves, Setzer and his orchestra manage to swing, rock, roll and otherwise nail such gems as "Dig That Crazy Santa Claus," "Zat You Santa Claus" (popularized by Louis Armstrong at Christmas long past) and "Cool Yule." He even tackles an instrumental arrangement of "My Favorite Things" that allows him to show off his guitar chops to great effect. Even the unexpected "Angels We Have Heard on High"--played at a galloping tempo, with an angelic chorus and loads of shiny brass--fits into Setzer's big bad sack. His original tunes (and seasonal rewrite of "in the Mood" called "Getting' in the Mood for Christmas") such as "Santa Arrives in A Hot Rod" and "Hey Santa' will be right at home, or in the cocktail lounge, or that New Year's Eve Party that you will have trouble remembering. Recommended fun. --Martin Keller

Fun and Festive! January 7, 2008 Wyo Angela 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought one of Brian's Christmas CD's so I figured I might as well get them both. This CD is fun and festive! I have a lot of Christmas music and this CD is one you can put in and listen to from start to finish. I even like the instrumental songs! Great for family parties, the car while you are Christmas shopping, cleaning the house before your Christmas party, and even one a younger crowd would like to listen to. Money well spent for the season. Would also make a good gift!
Dig That Crazy Brian Setzer January 7, 2008 L. Tracy (NJ, United States) WOW! I saw The Brian Setzer Orchestra on Nov. 30th at Foxwoods and they were just fantastic. They did a Christmas Show that could knock your socks off. Afterwards I had to purchase this CD. The best tracks are "Gettin in the Mood" which is phenonomal, "Angels We Have Heard on High" and "Dig That Crazy Santa Claus". Brian's guitar playing is top and the Orchestra is tight. His back up singers are fantastic as well. Definitely pick up this one for next Christmas, you won't be disappointed
Zero Talent Christmas!! December 22, 2007 Tom George (Wash. DC) 0 out of 7 found this review helpful
Setzer is completely talentless and it totally shows on his ludicrous attempt at a Christmas album. Met him once and he is as lacking in personality as he is in talent. Dreadful!!
Brian does it again. December 21, 2007 Timothy C. Mayo (Scranton, PA) Great CD. Brian and his awesome orchestra strike it rich again. If you loved his first Christmas CD you'll enjoy this one as well. Instantly moved to my iTunes favorite Christmas CD list.
Fun! March 6, 2007 Laura A. Cardone (Virgina Beach, VA) Upbeat and a fun twist to "not so classic" Christmas tunes. I was able to see Brian Setzer's Christmas concert in 2006 and it was fantastic. If you're looking for something that's fun to listen to and will get you energized and in the holiday mood, this is a great choice.
