Best Lullaby CD September 11, 2008 L. Shelton (Flagstaff, AZ) I was given this CD as a gift when my son was born, and he relaxed to it (or perhaps I did) better than with any other lullaby CD (we had several). When my daughter was born 2 years later, I rocked her to sleep while listening to it as well, and she always fell asleep after just a few minutes of listening to it. All of the pieces are ones that I have always loved anyway and are familiar classical pieces to most people. The rhythms of the pieces are slow and there is very little change in loudness and softness, which helps lull the baby to sleep and keep them that way. Some CD's have loud moments or long gaps between pieces, which tend to wake up a baby that is just falling asleep. This one has neither (with the exception of Clair de lune, which gets loud at the end, but my kids were always in deep sleep by then), and is a perfect soothing CD for later years, when they are doing homework after school or just having quiet time. Both of my kids have very fond memories of this CD and always will. The best part is that it is "real" music as opposed to synchronizers playing classical music. That can be very disappointing, I think, as the sounds of real pianos and violins are much more beautiful than anything computerized. I give it to every mom at baby showers because I know that it will be the best CD they will use at bedtime and for many years to come.
Perfectly Relaxing October 18, 2007 A. M. Deil (New York) Every time I have listened to this CD I have fallen asleep. Which is exactly what I was hoping for when I purchased it. I was looking for something relaxing to put on at night that would help me relax and this is perfect. Can't recommend enough.

Everyone in my house loves this CD. We borrowed it from our local library as well and had to own one for ourselves. None of us has ever fallen asleep to it though, we like to listen to it while playing or doing artwork.

I borrowed it from the local library. The kids didn't sleep though. They just wanted to dance.
the perfect lullaby December 13, 2001 Heidi R. Rozow (Milford, IN USA) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
This CD lulled each of my five babies to sleep every evening. It is not "kiddie classical" music, but gorgeous arrangements of some of the most soothing, beautiful music ever written.
