In a vast flood of Celtic Christmas discs - this is the best September 25, 1998

You can always judge how popular some genre is by the number of Christmas recordings which are released. Unfortunately, it is painfully obvious that most are "bandwagon" attempts. This disc is different. The beauty and warmth of the Poor Clares presentation is breath-taking. A mug of hot, mulled wine couldn't be more seasonally appropriate than this music. Here's one to savor. Betsy McGovern's voice is soulful and the instrumental accompaniment is bright and exciting. Buy two and give one to a friend for Christmas.
