Amazon.com The Muppets have sung with so many people over the years, from Elton John to Tony Bennett, yet it has always seemed like their performances with John Denver were somehow the perfect match. Christmas Together is a delightful--what else?--sing-along collection of Christmas favorites as performed by Denver and the Muppets ensemble. While the usual suspects have more than their say here--Kermit, Miss Piggy--the standout piece is "Twelve Days of Christmas." What could be better than a Muppet a day? Denver leads the critters through a tender "Silent Night," which comes couched in a medley that closes with a rousing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas." "Deck the Halls" is equally raucous--about as raucous as Muppets can get. Listen for the subtle lyric adaptations and the witty exchanges between Denver and his minstrels. Definitely not just for kids. --Steve Gdula

WE LOVE THIS ALBUM BUT HAVE THE FULL VERSION. NOW WHERE IS THE DVD??? December 3, 2008 Eilonwyofllyr (Newtown, CT United States) We have this CD but the full version with the missing 3 songs that are described below by the other viewers. I bought it YEARS ago. My query is...why isn't this available in DVD format?? My 4year old son saw Kermit in the Macy's Parade this year (2008) and LOVED him. So I rolled out this CD that I've had for years. He ADORES it but keeps asking me who the characters are who sing. So, when I went to look to purchase the DVD...it is NADA. COME ON!!! There is a whole new generation who is ready to PURCHASE!! PUT THIS IN DVD!!!
John Denver and the Muppets: A Christmas Together November 17, 2008 Paul F., Downing (Conroe, TX) The CD was in perfect condition but the CD case was cracked even though it was packaged in very good shipping material.
Not the full album November 1, 2008 E. Firstenberg (New York) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Buyer beware! This is the ten track version, you'll want the full thirteen track edition.
The Holiday Standard in my house! October 29, 2008 L. Shanley (Indianapolis, IN) It's just not Christmas until I play this album! I always have to play it for the first time each year when I'm alone because I usually end up alternately laughing and crying. I agree that "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" is fantastic, but one of my favorites is "Alfie the Christmas Tree", which I feel showcases John Denver's storytelling and songwriting perfectly. "Silent Night" gets me, too. I really just can't say enough about this album, as it holds a very very special place in my heart. A great album for children and grown-ups alike!
one of my all-time favorite Christmas albums September 20, 2008 ER W'feld (Olympia WA) I originally bought this CD off one of those cardboard stands in a grocery store, but it turned out to be one of my all time favorite Christmas albums and I went back and bought several more copies to give away to friends. I continue to stock up now and then and pass them along to friends who will enjoy it. :) Who knew it was such a fun album?
