Someone get Amy Adams on the Broadway stage, stat! She may not have the huge pipes that are supposed to be necessary for singers nowadays, but based on her sweet performance of three songs on this soundtrack, she gets a tune. Leaving aside High School Musical-style contemporary pop, Disney returns to its sources here, with a fairy tale set to a traditional-minded score by Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, etc.). The first three songs are loving, well-crafted homages to Disney classics, such as Cinderella and Snow White; tellingly, the lovely "Happy Working Song" (with lyrics by Stephen "Wicked" Schwartz) sounds like it could have been lifted from any number of Disney movies--and that's meant as a compliment. Carrie Underwood brings us back into the 21st century with the single "Ever Ever After", which in comparison feels a bit more anonymous. Menken also supplies several instrumental cues, often reprising themes alluded to in the songs, and James Marsden wraps things up with a hilariously straight-faced version of "That's Amore." --Elisabeth Vincentelli

A classic Disney fairytale collides with modern-day New York City in a story about a fairytale princess (Amy Adams) from the past who is thrust into present-day by an evil queen (Susan Sarandon). Soon after her arrival, Princess Giselle begins to change her views on life and love after meeting a handsome lawyer (Patrick Dempsey). Can a storybook view of romance survive in the real world? A musical comedy starting Oscar nominee Amy Adams, Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey and Oscar winner Susan Sarandon. The film is a combination of animation and live-action and, as Disney's big movie for Christmas, you won't be able to move around without seeing the princess image (above) everywhere you go. The film will launch simultaneously on approx 800 screens nationwide.

4 out of 5 stars great soundtrack   November 25, 2008
J. Smith (Missouri)
This is a great soundtrack. It has both the songs and the background music tracks. I really like the format where they put all the songs but one (and it was a background song really) at the front of the album and then put the background music tracks. It was exactly what I was hoping it would be.

5 out of 5 stars All around a very good choice for all ages.   September 29, 2008

I have watched this movie many time with my grandchildren and by myself. It is just a feel good movie and very entertaining. I would recommend this movie to everyone.

4 out of 5 stars Perfect sing-a-long   September 26, 2008
Emily J. Taylor (Utah)
I bought this DVD the day after I saw the movie in theatres. Truly, the songs are enchanting and I am happy so many of them were nominated for the Oscar's "Best Song". They are in true Disney fashion with just a hint of tongue-in-cheek. The instrumentals are lovely as well, but not nearly as great as the songs. However, this is worth Amy Adam's lovely voice.

5 out of 5 stars Such Fun!   September 23, 2008
J. Avery (Louisville, KY USA)
My whole family truly enjoyed the movie, "Enchanted" and we really wanted to be able to sing the wonderfully addictive songs. I purchased this CD to listen in the car with my daughters and we sing like crazy. They frequently ask to bring the CD into the house so that they can sing and dance at the same time. It is a really fun CD for the kids and the adults. Very cute.

5 out of 5 stars Loved it! That's why I bought it!   September 21, 2008
Half Trip (Los Angeles, CA)
If you loved the movie like my wife and I did, and loved the music, you'll love this disc. If you didn't love the movie (or the music), then this probably isn't the right purchase for you. If you haven't seen the movie (or heard the music), I would suggest you see the movie first. Then make up your own mind.
