Ave Maria Rocks June 21, 2002 A.Trendl HungarianBookstore.com (Glen Ellyn, IL USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Hmm... Overkill, I think, to suggest Ave Maria rocks. It is done with taste, an abundance of strings, and a pace that is somber but persuasively infused with a clear spiritual tone. Also highlighted is Bach's "Oboe Concerto for D minor." Space consideration, no doubt, kept the rest of it from the CD, but it comes across delicate and fragrant. Grieg's "Peer Gynt" selection seems to be played blandly here, but no terribly so. I found it almost passive. The Budapest Strings and Budapest Philharmonic are well-represented here, as they are on all ten CDs in the collection. I fully recommend "Meditation: Classical Relaxation, Vol. 5", but spend only a few dollars more and get the complete set. Anthony Trendl
Don't let the price fool you! October 8, 1998 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
If you like lovely classical music, not too heavy, playing in the backround, this is terrific. I have all five volumes, and after six years, I still never tire of them.
