Amazon.com essential video This irresistible Oscar winner from writer-director Leo McCarey (An Affair to Remember) stars Bing Crosby as a low-key, crooning priest who joins the parish of a no-nonsense but sweet old Irish man of the cloth (Barry Fitzgerald). While Bing turns local toughs into a choir, the elder priest worries over the church building fund and whether he'll get a chance to see his old mother back in Ireland before she dies. One would have to have a heart of stone not to be won over by this charmer, with a lovely ending guaranteed to make you bawl for a week. --Tom Keogh

Classic Musical October 15, 2008 Robert E. Macaitis (Omaha, Ne USA) Going My Way (Universal Cinema Classics) The Bells of St. Mary's If you like musicals, these two are some of the best. They don't get any better than this.
Going my way October 8, 2008 S. F. Brooks This is a wonderful classis. Perfect anytime of year but especially for the Christmas and holiday season.
Marvelous Saintly Storytelling April 19, 2008 Jeffrey M. Shabman (Wisconsin, USA) This film is Bing Crosby at his best. When you pair him with the witty genius of Barry Fitzgerald, and the glorious mezzo Metropolitan Opera voice of Rise Stevens, what else does one want? Why this film did not become its years best picture is beyond me. However, it will always be one of my favorite 10 best.
Good clean entertainment January 24, 2008 Stephanie Cook (Memphis, TN USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For those of you who are tired of the violence, filthy language, raw sarcasm, and constant bombardment of sex in today's films, you will find Going My Way an endearing and refreshing change of pace. This is a movie for anyone anytime. Don't forget to watch its sequel, The Bell's of Saint Mary. I'm not Catholic nor do I want to be - this family film is just plain enjoyable!
A favorite for all time! December 11, 2007 Cheryl A. Pelicano (USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I LOVE to see this movie at the Holidays. I had it, this year, for Thanksgiving Weekend, and it put me in the Christmas Spirit. I ALWAYS cry at the end, and that, to me is the sign of an authentic story. It never gets old, just better. Times were simpler and we could all use a little bit of that.
