Let us be grateful to people who make us happy. They are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. ~Marcel Proust

Leonidas Kestekidis definitely knew how to make people happy. When he moved back to Belgium he not only married his true love, he created chocolates the world now adores. When you taste these chocolates, your taste buds will also finally know true happiness.

If you were to travel to the Manon Cafe in NYC, you could enjoy a hot chocolate made with pure Leonidas chocolate. Eight squares of chocolate melt blissfully into warm milk and you can choose from Orange Abyss, Cinnamon Sin or Manon Mint.

To prepare these sinfully delicious hot chocolates at home, simply melt the chocolates into about 11 ounces of boiling or steamed milk if you have an espresso machine. You can then top your hot chocolate with whipping cream and nutmeg, cinnamon or the topping of your choosing.

My two favorite flavors are Cinnamon and Orange. If you have been dreaming of the most delicious orange flavored chocolates in the world, you have to try the Orange Napolitains. I love both equally, although the cinnamon flavor has me completely seduced.

I prefer to savor each piece of cinnamon chocolate with a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate. The warmth of the beverage creates an entirely different experience than if you were to simply taste a square of chocolate on its own. Once your mouth is warmed, take a small bite of the chocolate square and enter Cinnamon Chocolate Oblivion. The world stops for minutes at a time as you savor a mingling of the best cinnamon you have ever tasted with the silkiest creamiest Belgian chocolate in the world.

If you wish to try all the Napolitains, I'd suggest the 1 pound sampler Ballotin with six varieties. Leonidas now has over 1700 stores and sales locations worldwide and they offer over 80 varieties of fresh chocolates. The chocolates are air freighted weekly from Brussels so you will always find the quality to be superior. My chocolates arrived fast and were as fresh as if I had purchased them in Belgium. They were carefully packaged in the famous gold boxes with signature wrapping and a ribbon. The boxes were then placed in protective Styrofoam containers to protect the chocolates during shipping. The expedited shipping is recommended from May to early September.
