Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Laguiole has made a whimsical cheese board with a map of some of the most famous cheeses from France. We have included five of our favorites (a virtually impossible decision). This is a great introduction for any budding cheese connoisseur. Our board comes with Laguioles world famous knife. The Laguiole knife has been crafted in the heart of France for over 200 years. The blade, made of high-grade stainless steel, is stamped, then ground and then polished with over 25 different manual production stages. Cheeses include: Pont L'Eveque: One of the worlds ancient cheeses, Pont L'Eveque dates back to the Thirteenth Century. It is well known for its delicate bouquet, which is said to be reminiscent of the Norman countryside, however it does tend to have a strong, pungent aroma that is not for the timid. (8.5oz.) Saint Simeon: Fromagerie de la Brie, situated in the heart of the French Brie making region of Isle-de-France, has made Saint Simeon since 1929. With a snowy white rind and orange colored stripes, this rich, double-creme cheese is the dessert cheese par excellence. (7 oz.) Tomme de Savoie: This cheese is robust with slight overtones of salt and an unmistakably raw flavor. This unpasteurized cows milk cheese has a charming simplicity. (1 lb.) Pico Picandine: This is a traditional soft ripened goats milk cheese from the mountains of the Ardeche and Drome regions of France. This small, pleasantly sweet and sour goat cheese is covered with white or bluish mould and its pate is creamy. (4 oz.) Roquefort: Roquefort is the ancient blue cheese from the Rouergue. Roquefort is made from raw sheep's milk and is aged naturally in the caves of Cambalou for a minimum of three months, developing an intense flavor profile. (1 lb.) Please note that any item temporarily out of stock will be substituted with a similar item of equal value.

Received this item as a gift. Included cheese board is a plain cheap bamboo cutting board, not the Laguiole cheese map of France pictured in the product image and promised in the description. No knife at all, Laguiole or otherwise, was included in the box. The cheeses were all shrinkwrapped in plastic and were soggy and decomposing. Called igourmet.com, and they blamed "inexperienced seasonal hires."
