This powerful home steam vacuum saves you the expense and hassle of having to rent a steam cleaner and keeps rugs, upholstery, and bare floors (other than hardwoods) looking like new. The powerful 12-amp motor combined with five spinning brushes that operate at either high or low speed lift the usual dirt and grime out of carpets. By pulling on the trigger in the comfortable upright handle, this deep cleaner releases the included carpet/upholstery cleaner and hot tap water.  Great cleaner for the price January 8, 2009

We just got this machine last week and could not be more pleased. I was able to clean 2 large rooms in less than an hour and a half and they were dry within 4 hours. It is very easy to assemble and to move around (I am 7 months pregnant) and even to switch from the stair/upholstery attachment to the regular cleaner. I'm not convinced that the clean surge feature actually does anything special, but between using that and pre-treating the worst spots, our floors look great!
My only complaints:
* The cleaner that comes with the machine smells VERY strong and "chemically". I used it at half strength and still could smell it for hours. I would recommend getting a "free" cleaner to use, especially if you have kids or allergies/asthma.
* The worst spots on your floor will need to be pre-treated in order to get them out. I just sprayed Resolve before I started a room and then they came right up when I went over them with the Hoover.
* The power cord is a little short. I had to keep switching between outlets to get it to reach.
Overall, we are VERY pleased with how well this worked for the price of it. Don't waste your money on a more expensive machine - I highly recommend this one!
Saved my daughter's Christmas January 8, 2009

We have cats, two of them, both long-haired. My daughter, who came for Christmas is very allergic to cats. This has been a on-going problem, making Christmases with us a mixed blessing. She stays in a hotel, but still wants to spend the days with us.
So, just before Christmas, I bought this cleaner and did every carpet, rug, and upholstered chair and sofa in the house. I followed the instructions carefully and had no leaks, and used a tea kettle of boiling water in every gallon to improve the hotness of the water as recommended in a review here. It worked wonderfully well. Everything came beautifully clean (I could tell because I rinsed everything and the rinse water came out clean). I'm extremely pleased with this purchase. Things were much, much better for my daughter too. However, all the furniture moving practically crippled me. Small price to pay though.

I very satisfied with the purchase of the Hoover SteamVac. Assembly was fairly easy.....about 20 minutes total.
My carpets in the bedrooms are white and became dull over the past two years. I consider calling a carpet cleaner company to do the job. I'm glad I didn't after using the Hoover SteamVac. If you go slow and do a couple of passes it really does the job

This Steamvac was a gift for our daughter because she was always borrowing our Steamvac. She says this one works great. We have had our's for about 6 years and with 2 dogs coming in the house with mud & slush our carpets look new because we give them a deep cleaning with the Hoover. I love that they are so easy to fill and empty and that the carpet dries so quickly.

I had a similar model to this for several years and just wore it out from use. I wanted the new version of basically what I had before, because it worked so well. We have four kids and a dog. The carpets needed cleaning a lot. Also this came in very handy twice when the basement flooded because of the sump over ran. It works great with the hand attachment to clean carpets in the car. This is one of the best products Hoover has ever made. It does a great job. It's easy to use, cleans well. You will be stunned how much dirt it will pull out of carpet.
I got this newer model just before Christmas and did the whole house. The house had new carpeting installed in July of 2007, I cleaned it once before. The new Hoover just does a great job. This is a great value! Well worth what you pay for it. (No I do not work for Hoover! :) )
