5 out of 5 stars Actually works as advertised.   December 16, 2008

I've seen dozens upon dozens of miracle products be complete failures or frauds, but this thing actually does what it claims to do. When I saw half the lights fail to come on, I thought my artificial tree hadn't survive being packed away for another year. I was loaned one of these tools and begrudgingly tried it, only to be flabbergasted when it worked perfectly. My tree returned to life, saving me at least $100 for a replacement tree.

I have a pre-lit Christmas tree that two tree rings went out after putting up the tree. So, I went to Lowes and bought the Light Keeper Pro. Well, what a disappointment. I couldn't get anything to work. The fuses test out okay. I get beeps along the strands, but every light I take out is burned out. Anyway, the light keeper pro has been a total waste of $20 for me. I should have bought two strands of 100 lights for $6 and wrapped them around the tree. I would have been money ahead and stress free.

This is one of the best products I have ever bought! We have a specialty prelit tree and 3 sections went out this year. I was going to just re-string the lights with a new set this year but, couldn't find what I needed. After watching the video on the lightkeeperpro website and all the great reviews, I finally located it in town. I couldn't believe it but, it worked! One section had a broken off bulb, one had 3 lights burned out and one had a bulb that had a bad contact. No one is more surprised than me but this product works. I can't speak any higher of any product I have ever bought. Get it!

All I can say is WOW! I've tried to use similar products in the past. All of them turned out to be a waste of money. This year I was very disappointed after I assembled our 5 yr old prelit Christmas tree only to find 1/2 the strands did not work. I did a search on Amazon and saw this item. After reading some reviews, I decided to give it a try. Home Depot has it for $18.99; mine was the last one in stock and it looked like it had been on the shelf forever. I took it home and unpackaged it. I was still only a marginal believer. I read the directions and followed them. The first thing I tried was the shunt repair tool. I used it on all the strings that were out and 1/2 immediately came back to life! I then read the rest of the instructions which indicated I needed to use the current tool. Unfortunately, it turned out the device did sit on the shelf too long and the battery was dead. Another trip to Home Depot... the clerk was very nice and allowed me to replace all the batteries with Duracells. It seemed to work so I went home again. The current feature is a breeze to use - push the button and hold the tip to a wire. If it beeps, it is hot. The tightly twisted wire on the tree caused me difficulty. The instructions recommend extending the wire on the ground and running the tool over it; that is not possible on the tree. Despite the complexity, after 2 hours of work I was able to get every string working again. Unbelievable! I thought the tree was a loss and this tool saved the day.

I had 1/2 of one of the strands of lights out on my prelit Christmas tree that I just bought last year. My husband and I spent all evening yesterday trying to find the problem with only frustration. I did some research today and read about this product. I decided to give it a try. I followed the instructions and removed one of the bulbs that was out, plugged it into the Lightkeeper Pro and clicked 20 times. Nothing! Not to be discouraged I decided to give it one more try on a different socket. After about 2 clicks the lights came on. I checked and found the bulb that was the culprit, replaced it and the bulb I had removed to use the product. So far, so good. I am so pleased. I think it will be well worth the money as I have two prelit trees and my MIL has one as well.
