Great picture and Easy-to-Use November 21, 2008 Backup Queen (CA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I got my S-Frame DPF-V900 for Mother's Day and I love it. I had researched digital frames and got a Pandigital frame for my parents last Christmas. I was impressed with the Pandigital but the Sony S-Frame picture quality, feature set, and ease-of-use can't be beat! I was especially impressed with the easy-to-use interface which makes setup and modifications a breeze. I also like the calendar with picture view feature as I keep this frame on my desk at work. I am very impressed with the overall product quality and design of the frame and the frames ability to auto rotate images if you change the frame orientation from horizontal to vertical.
sony excellent choice November 11, 2008 N. Singh (Texas, USA) I got this after seeing it in retail stores. The picture quality is too good, not too many offer a high resolution for a 7 inch digital frame. a worth investment
Beautiful Pics November 10, 2008 Art (New Jersey) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
After doing a ton of research, I settled on this frame mostly by process of elimination (and the fact that while there are not a ton of reviews on Sony frames, they are mostly all good). I eliminated many others because (1) most other frames are not in the 4:3 aspect ratio (meaning black bars on your pics); (2) most other frames have mediocre reviews (for example, no Kodak frame (the market leader) does better then 3.5 stars on Amazon over tons of reviews; and (3) many frames by lesser known brands appear to have serious and scary quality control issues that are ignored/not caught by professional reviews, but show up in user reviews. This frame definitely costs more for the size and features, but the pics look awesome, and I'm confident that if there is a problem, I have a reliable company to go to. It was super easy to get set up, I put 350 pics in a folder, ran a batch resizer on them to get them to 800x600 (not really necessary given the amount of on-board memory on the unit, but the I figured my PC plus a good free resizer program would probably do better then the unit itself at resizing), connected the frame by USB cable to the PC and copied that folder to the unit and that was pretty much that. For the price, a bigger picture frame would be nice, but really the 8 inch screen size is great for your desk at work.
What a terrific product! November 6, 2008 Geoff Puterbaugh (Chiang Mai, T. Suthep, A. Muang Thailand) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My hat is truly off to Sony for this one! The picture display is clear and vivid, and the options are breathtaking. For example, you can simply pop your memory card out of your digital camera and put it into the S-Frame to see your pictures. For another example: if you feel constrained by the device's internal memory of a mere (!) 512 M, well, then, hie yourself to the nearest computer store and pick up a couple of 4-gig USB sticks. Even in Thailand, these puppies are only around $10-$15 each. This makes it extremely easy to change the content of your S-Frame depending on who might be looking. If it's Easter and family time, then pop in the USB stick with all your family pix, and watch the kiddies go "Wow!" If it's a few weeks later, and you have decided to have a more adult sort of party, then simply pop in the USB stick with all of your photos for such an occasion. On top of all that, you can get an HDMI cable and display all these pictures on your big-screen TV. Not to mention a Bluetooth option. I consider this an EXCELLENT product designed by a genius, who saw all of these high-tech trends gathering together, and produced a product whose market timing was PERFECT. I like my Sony S-Frame!!!
Impressive Product November 5, 2008 James W. Phelan (Bloomfield, NJ United States) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I did some research on digital picture frames but had no experience with using one. I decided on the SONY because of its looks, high resolution and other features such as HDMI output and AutoCorrection of pictures. On opening the box, the frame is VERY attractive and high-quality and will look great in any decor. I removed the 4GB SDHC card from my camera, pushed it into the correct slot and attached the powercord. Once I hit the on button, I immediately saw my pictures...it couldn't have taken even five minutes. The picture is stunning and the frame is great looking and has many features...I don't know how this compares to others but it has everything I could conceivably need. If you don't expect to use HDMI and don't want the AutoCorrection capability, you can save money by buying the DPF-D70 which looks identical. For overall quality, this is definitely 5 stars. I wish the price was about 20% less but you can't have everything, hence the rating of 4 stars.
