Product Description Double Wall Clear Glass / 9 Ounce Capacity Each / Set of 2 / Holds warm and cold beverages
Amazon.com Review With futuristic looks and high-tech construction, Bodum's Pavina drinkware makes an exciting departure from traditional glassmaking. The walls of each vessel are crafted from two layers of clear glass, creating an optical illusion that the liquid is suspended inside. Softening the look, Pavina's shapes feature smooth, rounded silhouettes. The inner wall also curves slightly away from the outer wall for a touch of understated elegance. This set of two double old fashioned/tumbler glasses serves anything from minty mojitos to hot cocoa. Crafted of borosilicate glass, which is also used to make scientific lab equipment, the pair is exceptionally strong, lightweight, and thermal. The two-layer construction also resists heat and prevents condensation, so no matter what temperature the beverage is, the glasses remain comfortable to hold and safe for any tabletop. Winner of the prestigious European IF Design Award, this 9-ounce, scratch-resistant set also goes into the dishwasher and microwave. Mix and match Pavina with the Assam and Canteen lines to stock the bar or dining table with a variety of fun shapes. --Kara Karll Editor's Note: Because the glasses are mouth blown, each one may have slight variations in height, thickness, and weight. Bodum recommends using care when placing ice into the glass to avoid fracturing the inner layer. Do not use metal spoons or place the glass into a crowded dishwasher.

home and comercial use November 19, 2008 Jacqueline Depas (washington, dc) I first ordered a set of these for a coffee shop I was managing. They are beautiful and adds a real luxury to espresso making. Our customers loved them and the staff loved using them. I then ordered a set for myself to have at home. I love pulling a shot into them. they are beautiful. Also, very helpful in teaching staff what a proper shot should look like because you can see the 3 leves of the shot clearly.
Great for Expresso November 18, 2008 johnme7 (South Dakota) Has stood up to the test of time. A bit expensive but worth it. Don't have to worry about burning your fingers anymore.
Our new preferred coffee cups! November 18, 2008 Sammy Clemens (USA) It's all true: they keep things hot (or cold) especially if you pre-warm them); you can prewarm them with water in the microwave (!) and you can chill them in the freezer. The outside stays warm to the touch no matter how hot or cold the contents are ... if you put them in the freezer, the outside will quickly adjust to your hand. They do seem fragile, but so far, no breaks. Oh, and put a little liquid in them and then gently tip them: they don't fall over!! We've got the 9oz version; we also bought some of their "Double Old Fashioned" glasses, which are also becoming favorites for cold drinks. We'll be buying more.
Functional aestehetics November 17, 2008 Andrew G. Howe (Cville) These double wall glasses are a nice addition to my coffeeware. They hold the coffee in an attractive container at a good temperature which does not burn the fingers. Once the coffee cools down just a bit from the brewing process, the temperature holds for a while so the coffee can be enjoyed over 40 or so minutes. The glasses are not very large, so if you are accustomed to drinking a 'standard' coffee (12 oz), buy a larger size. One reviewer explained that the glassware has a small hole in the bottom which is bad for dishwashing. The Bodum company is no help on how to solve the problem. I would recommend covering the hole during dishwashing or applying a small amount of epoxy to seal it.
Beautiful Cup November 17, 2008 Deborah J. Miller (Palo Alto, CA USA) As others have mentioned, this cup is beautiful, and perhaps somewhat fragile. One cracked in the dishwasher after two or three washes. I was able to replace it with easily through Amazon's excellent customer service, and the replacements as well as one original have been holding up just fine for the past couple of months.
