 The "Marriage Saver" Tree Stand November 15, 2008

This is the best Christmas stand on the market. You really can put up the tree in one minute.
We take the collar to the tree farm with us and they cut the trunk of the tree to fit the collar. All we do is take home the tree and drop it into the stand and then swivel it straight. Its that easy.
It has saved my marriage!!!

We have had this tree stand for about 11 years and it still works great. We swear by it! Now granted, we only use it for a 6-7 foot tree, but it has never toppled over. We are always able to get our tree straight. However, the water container is pretty small as someone else said, so you do need to water every day. And, I would suggest taking the piece that clips over the tree trunk to the tree lot so that you can tell if it's going to fit over the trunk. There can't be too many low laying branches. We always bring the base and have the guys who helps us, cut off any low branches so that it fits. Saves us a headache when we get home!

I love the theory behind this stand. In practice it does not work well. I have tried three of them by two different makers over a 15 year period. Each time the plastic breaks and tragedy either occurs or is narrowly averted. (Experience in wiring the top) I guess to make it with the materials that would allow the concept to work requires parts that would put the price point way out of the market.

This product does not work as well as the larger model. It's worth the extra bucks to get the 12' model. The tree wobbles at the point where the clamps are supposed to hold it. The 12' model has large fingers that reach up into the tree stump and hold it securely.

Emerald Innovations XTS3 Swivel Straight Tree Stand For 10' Tree We put up our 7 ft balsam pine Christmas Tree using the swivel stand and found the operation very easy and fast compared to the last 44 years using a variety of stands. We were about to give up the live tree routine, but this stand as made straightening tree in the stand so easy we have changed our minds. The XTS3 is constructed of plastic but seems to be very well designed and reinforced in critical stress areas, plus it will not rust. The water reservior is very adequate and easy enough to fill. The true test will be when the 12 grand children arrive, barring any one of them trying to climb the tree, we should be ok.
