Product Description Quiet Desperation is a psychological thriller focusing on a serial killer and the two New Jersey police officers trying to catch him. Full of non-stop action and intensity, Quiet Desperation draws the reader into the mind of Richard Abbott as he unleashes his Christmas time killing spree. While Abbott kills mercilessly, his motive is his writing. Wanting to write a best-selling novel, Abbott decides to become a killer and then write about his adventures. Detective Michael Donovan and his nephew, Detective Gerard Donovan, are in charge of the search for Abbott. Both men, but in particular Gerard, have had hard lives full of heartbreak and disappointment, and this case may prove to be too much for the men. As Gerard and Michael are forced to come to grips with pasts that haunt them, they must somehow push forward and stop Abbott before he kills again.

I was disappointed September 9, 2002 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was looking forward to reading this book based on articles in the local papers about Mr. Arts, but boy, was I disappointed! It's full of anachronistic stereotypes (Irish cops who call each other "mick" [in late 20th century Passaic County??], evil Hispanic drug dealers with no morals) and the descriptions of violence are unnecessarily extreme. The main storyline was pretty humdrum. I was surprised that none of the parents in town seemed to mind that it was required reading at Clifton High. -I gave my copy away.
Fantastic Novel March 13, 2002 Michael Hunt (Clifton, NJ *USA* /Earth/Solar System/ Metphase Galaxy 1) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
It is a very thrilling novel and I enjoy it very much. David Is an Incredible human being, even though one of his students, Marcus Gagnon would repeatly get hit in the leg with a 18 wheeler frieght truck, we still struggle to put the good times in his period 3 class room. On another note, My name is not Nicole.
