3 out of 5 stars Not pretty on the Kindle   November 22, 2008

I enjoyed these stories, but there were severe formatting issues when reading this on the Kindle that really interfered with my reading experience. I will think twice before I buy another Kensington book on the Kindle.

3 out of 5 stars If I Were Lori Foster, I Would Be Offended   October 9, 2008

I bought this book mainly because I enjoy Lori Foster's books. I also like to buy anthologies because it gives me an opportunity to "discover" another author that I may not have read before. Well, the only reason I am giving this a three-star rating is because I enjoyed Foster's story. I can't stress enough how TERRIBLE the other two stories were - especially Castell's. If I were Foster, I would be offended that the publisher put these authors (who clearly are not the same caliber) in with my story. If I could give out stars based on yuckiness, the other two stories would definitely rate 5 stars!

3 out of 5 stars I loved Karen Kelley's Contribution!   April 11, 2008

Does it get any better? Christmas magic . . . sensual fantasies . . . three fun authors . . . an anthology! Yum!

Book 1 -
Lori Foster: "The Christmas Present." - Rating: 3 Stars
Forever . . . Levi Masterson loved Beth Monroe! Yet he is too much of a friend and gentleman to do anything about it! But when Beth catches her fiance with another woman, Levi has his golden opportunity . . . finally!

*** Reviewer's Comments -
Usually Lori Foster is a lot of fun and although, THE CHRISTMAS PRESENT is a pleasant read - I expected so much more! There seemed to be too much running back and forth between the characters, "You love me!" "No, I don't!" "Yes, you do!" And, to make matters worse, I felt as if I was caught up in a storm, hastily blown toward the story's conclusion.
Reading Status: It was OK.

Book 2 -
Karen Kelley: "It's a Wonderful Life." - Rating: 5 Stars
What is wrong with her? Bailey Tanner is definitely out of God's good grace now! She is lusting after a preacher for heaven's sake! It was her seductive wink that sparked his sprained ankle, and it was her guesthouse that laid the ground work, but it was her coquetry that brought the man straight to his knees! Jeremy Hunter, Hollywood playboy, is researching an upcoming 'man of the cloth' role . . . incognito. Now the actor, aka Trey Jones, feels like a panic-stricken cad!

*** Reviewer's Comments -
Oh what fun! For a short story, Karen Kelley writes a jewel. Ms. Kelley is one of those rare authors who can combine comedy and sensuality and not diminish the impact of her romance. IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE is as cute as a button and as hot as a firecracker.
Reading Status: Marvelous.

Book 3 -
Dianne Castell: "Home for Christmas." - Rating: 2 Stars
She would never look at another gazebo again without thinking of him. The guy had been incredible and they had SHARED astonishing sex! Yet it was essential that they separate. Neither needed another man-woman relationship. Mr. Incredible had been dumped at the altar and Miss 'pregnant' Congeniality had simply been dumped - it seemed the jerk wasn't the daddy type! So what kept positioning Sebastian Moore and LuLu Cahill together? Physics? Over-enthused relatives? All of the above!

*** Reviewer's Comments -
If Lori Foster's story made me feel caught up in a storm, then Dianne Castell's HOME FOR CHRISTMAS snarled me in a tornado! Bombarded with far-reaching dialogue and an outrageous storyline, HOME FOR CHRISTMAS was just too much.
Reading Status: Mediocre.

As a whole it's always difficult to rate an anthology . . . some stories are winners, while others are not! This can be said of I'M YOUR SANTA; it's unfortunate that all the stories weren't of the same caliber.

MaryGrace Meloche.

4 out of 5 stars the first one is my winner...   March 25, 2008

5 out of 5 stars I'm Your Santa   January 3, 2008

The Christmas Present by Lori Foster

Beth Monroe is a woman confused about herself and her life. With the realization that she does not know herself or the people around her as well as she thought, Beth sets out for revenge and gets more than she bargained for. If she can forgive herself, the future will be a lot brighter. Courtesy of Levi, her ex-fiance's best friend, the Christmas cheer will be hotter.

The Christmas Present is a story that has me believing in karma. Lori Foster kept me flipping from anxiety to laughter. All the characters are well drawn, but Beth and Levi touched my heart. Ms. Foster kept my attention and did not release it. The Christmas Present is a most enjoyable story.

It's A Wonderful Life by Karen Kelley

Actor Jeremy Hunter wants a more serious acting career and will do whatever he has to do to research the role of a lifetime. Temptation comes in many forms when you least expect it. Bailey Tanner takes one look at Jeremy and feels the temptation as well. Will their love survive his secrets?

It's a Wonderful Life tells the tale of deliberately mistaken identity and the possibilities developed therein. As I read, I alternated between wanting to shake Jeremy, hoping that he works it out with Bailey, and wanting to see him get his just rewards. Karen Kelley fills the story with moments that not only made me laugh but made me wish I could help the characters out before the `train wreck' moment I knew was coming.

Home for Christmas by Dianne Castell

Lulu Cahill is having the worst Christmas ever with her empty wallet and philandering boyfriend. Then she meets Sebastian Moore, who has just been jilted and needs someone to fill in for his bride.

Home for Christmas gives a glimpse of the possibility of love at first sight. Dianne Castell has written a tale of two people who have fallen in lust at first sight, and come to realize it may be more than what they are ready for. Ms. Castell throws in an overprotective and interfering family in the mix that makes you realize you are not as much in control of your life as you think you are. Home for Christmas is a tale of hope and self-sacrifice that made me smile and wish I could be in the story to help out with all the details that the family takes care of.

I'm Your Santa are three well-crafted stories of romance set around Christmas time. All three are well written with a nice mix of laughter, romance and moments of tension. They make you smile and keep your mind occupied for an afternoon. I'm your Santa is a very entertaining and amusing book.
