Product Description Why do Christians make a big deal about an obscure baby born in a small town, Bethlehem? Why Bethlehem? Why Jesus? Why does it make a difference to me? With the publicity surrounding New Line Cinema's The Nativity Story movie this fall, you'll want this book. Vague reason: Vague repentance April 30, 2007 Philip S Roeda (Cook, Illinois United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Does this book answer the question why the Nativity? Why did Jesus come to earth as an infant instead as a grown man? Why did Jesus come to earth under humble circumstance? The author could have done better. Does the author really list twenty-five reasons to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ? No effort is made in this book to present twenty-five reasons to celebrate Christmas. There are twenty-five questions answered in this work about Jesus and His birth as recorded in Holy Scripture. Each answer is about five pages long and Biblically sound. But the reason Jesus came to earth as a baby, to grow up to manhood, to suffer as a sinner and eventually die on the cross is just skimmed over. No real explanation is given why Jesus lowered himself by becoming man and to suffer as a sinner. Only when this questioned is answered does one truly understand why the nativity? Yes important facts about the birth of Jesus on earth are answered in this work. The question: why the nativity is not answered? There are not twenty-five compelling reasons to celebrate Christmas, just twenty-five questions answered. The book ends with a vague prayer for repentance. One may even think one is doing Jesus a favor by becoming a Christian. The person reading the prayer may not even understand it as an act of repentance.
