Product Description
Meet Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the unforgettable boy-hero of Ender's Game--winner of the Hugo Award and the Nebula Award for Best Novel--and enter his Universe through this collection of stories.
"The Polish Boy" is John Paul Wiggin, the future father of Ender. In the years between the first two Bugger Wars, the Hegemony is desperate to recruit brilliant military commanders to repel the alien invasion. They may have found their man--or boy--in John Paul Wiggin....
In "Teacher's Pest"-a novella written especially for this collection--a brilliant but arrogant John Paul Wiggin, now a university student, matches wits with an equally brilliant graduate student.
"The Investment Counselor" is set after the end of the Bugger Wars. Banished from Earth and slandered as a mass murderer, twenty-year-old Andrew Wiggin wanders incognito from planet to planet as a fugitive--until a blackmailing tax inspector compromises his identity and threatens to expose Ender the Xeoncide.
Also reprinted here is the original award-winning novella, "Ender's Game," which first appeared in 1977.

Great way to introduce your child to Ender August 31, 2008 Eric A. Rial (San Diego) I read the Ender short story when it first came out (before the novel) and remembered it when I saw the novel. This collection of short stories, including the original short story version of Ender's Game is a great way to get a young teen interested in the entire set of story's as they grow.
First Meetings--Fills In the Gaps! August 25, 2008 R. L. STROUD (Woodbridge, VA United States) The book is awesome--filling in gaps that I didn't even realize were in the Ender books. Two of the three stories are totally brilliant, while the third one is a short-story version of Ender's Game--still very interesting, even if you've read the novel. FIRST MEETINGS IN THE ENDERVERSE is a pretty easy read, making you wish it were much longer. Well worth the money!
Great novellas in the Ender series! August 19, 2008 R. McFarren (Avondale, AZ) Great little set of Novellas! I bought it because it did include the original Ender's Game Novella--great story! Interesting to see how the characters evolved into the full novel from that Novella. The other short stories were great as well, whether you are versed in the "Enderverse" or not. Highly recommend for easy, yet interesting reading!
It's okay... July 31, 2008 GVL (USA) ...since I got it for 1 USD. I would have been interested in seeing a novel about Ender's parents in their formative years instead, but this added some insight.
Not Just For Kids!! June 23, 2008 Barbara E. Hensley (Southern West Virginia) I didn't discover OSC and Ender's Game until I was in my 20's, so I don't have a childs/teens perspective on the stories. I've always loved science fiction, and was facinated at the concept. I loved First Meetings because it filled in some blanks left by the original books. I definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys the Ender saga.
