Product Description The editors of Many Bloody Returns deliver the perfect howl-iday gift, with new tales from Patricia Briggs, Carrie Vaughn, and many more.
New York Times bestselling authors Charlaine Harris, Patricia Briggs, Keri Arthur, and Carrie Vaughn along with eleven other masters of the genre offer all-new stories on werewolves and the holidays, a fresh variation on the concept that worked so well with birthdays and vampires in Many Bloody Returns.
The holidays can bring out the beast in anyone. They are particularly hard for lycanthropes. Charlaine Harris and Toni L. P. Kelner have harvested the scariest, funniest and saddest werewolf tales by an outstanding pack of authors, best read by the light of a full moon with a silver bullet close at hand.
Whether wolfing down a holiday feast (use your imagination) or craving some hair of the dog on New Year s morning, the werewolves in these frighteningly original stories will surprise, delight, amuse, and scare the pants off readers who love a little wolfsbane with their mistletoe.

Good except for Sookie Story October 12, 2008 Hu Plung Pu (Florida) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is great except for the Sookie short story. The author seems to want to "hook" Sookie up with every Supe she meets, even under magic. It was a strange story and shows where the Sookie series is going-in the gutter! The rest of them were fantastic! I can't wait to read them again at Christmas time (except for the Sookie story once was enough)
Very good anthology October 11, 2008 Eleanor Skinner (Albany, NY United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My primary interest was in the Harris, Green, Vaughn, Briggs & Chance stories. All these stories are set in the authors' most famous universes (I consider that Nightside for Simon R. Green), the Harris story has Sookie in it, & the Vaughn story has Kitty in it. The Harris, Green, & Chance stories were minor, but fun. The Vaughn & Briggs ones are whole novellas, & really good. Special credit goes to Nancy Pickard for unusual idea (Santa as a vampire), but the true WTF award goes to the unknown J.A. Konrath, for a decently-written story involving evil Santas, gun-toting Satan-worshipping Salvation Army minions, the lost (biblical) book of Bob, a were-anon group, a hippo, & many other interesting characteristics. Trust me, go read it, it's the most interesting unusual story I've read this year. Author list: Charlaine Harris Donna Andrews Simon R. Green Dana Cameron Kat Richardson Alan Gordon Carrie Vaughn Dana Stabenow Keri Arthur J.A. Konrath Patricia Briggs Nancy Pickard Karen Chance Rob Thurman Toni L.P. Kelner
Have yourself a hairy little Christmas October 10, 2008 Julia Smith (CA United States) A fun collection of short stories with only 2 common elements: werewolves and Christmas. Even though they all have those 2 things in common, the stories are really varied in tone and subject, from the humorous (J. A. Konrath's SA about a support group for shapechangers facing an ancient yuletide enemy) to the haunted (Simon R. Green's Lucy, at Christmastime.) This is a great sampler of mystery and urban fantasy authors. I couldn't find a complete listing of all the contributors online, so here goes: Donna Andrews Keri Arthur Patricia Briggs Dana Cameron Karen Chance Alan Gordon Simon R. Green Charlaine Harris Toni L. P. Kelner J. A. Konrath Nancy Pickard Kat Richardson Dana Stabenow Rob Thurman Carrie Vaughn
Sookie short story for die hard fans..... October 10, 2008 Holly Lewis (Medina, OH USA) 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
I'm a HUGE fan of Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series, Dead Until Dark (Southern Vampire Mysteries, No. 1), so I had to ge this from the library for the Sookie story alone. While I'm glad to get a Sookie fix between books, this short story isn't as good as the one in Many Bloody Returns (Sookie Stackhouse) which actually progressed her character. This installment left me feeling sad and a bit sorry for ole' Sook - which I've never felt before.
A Must For Your Holiday Stocking! October 9, 2008 Dianne S. Tetro (shelton, ct United States) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Wolfsbane and Mistletoe by Various Authors (Charlaine Harris, Patricia Briggs, Keri Arthur, Carrie Vaughn, J A Konrath etc.) If you're looking for the perfect way to find some new authors to read or just looking for some stories by your old time favorites, then this is going to be a 'howling' good book to read this holiday season. Every story has a holiday theme and every story is populated by werewolves; except for J A Konraths comedic tale which is populated by not only werewolves, but a were-boar, were-tortoise and a were-coral an Evil Were Hunting Santa Claus and a religious figure named Bob. Charlaine Harris' Sookie short story, was a lovely addition but in no way do I see it as a necessary read to go along with the series, Carrie Vaughn's addition takes place right before her third Kitty book. A number of authors that I would never have thought to try this type of story, have stepped up to bat, hit home runs and did an excellent job of it too. Most notably Dana Stabenow: the author of 16 "Kate Shugak Mysteries". Add this to your Christmas Wish list or run out and buy this and be prepared to be delighted as the werewolves take on Christmas in their very own ways.
