Product Description Mercer Mayer's very popular character stars in a getting-ready- for-Christmas picture book. Little Critter approaches Christmas with the intention of being a good helper. When he makes a mistake, he has a logical explanation. He couldn't wrap the Christmas package because the tape got too sticky. He couldn't buy his parents a present because there were too many toys to look at. He couldn't put up the tree lights because they were just too tangled. Little Critter means well, but every funny illustration shows him as tangled up as the Christmas lights.

LOVE IT! December 27, 2008 G_Laeken (Northeast US) Gina & Mercer Mayer books are among our VERY favorite family books for the little ones (age 2-6).
Another Little Critter book September 1, 2008 Ulyyf (NYC) We love Little Critter books around here. They're short, they're funny, they're topical, and they're cheap. This one is just a sweet story about how Little Critter tries to make a special Christmas for his parents - naturally, following the formula of these books, he doesn't get it *quite* right. But that's okay :)
Cute book! October 11, 2006 carolyn (Canal Winchester, OH) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a pretty cute book. This one doesn't have the questionable content that some of his other books in this series, so if you're concerned about that, you won't have to with this one. The critter is trying his best to do things to wish his mom and dad Merry Christmas, but things just seem to go wrong. He gets all wrapped up in the tape when wrapping a gift, tangled in the lights when trying to get them out, and breaking all the bulbs for the tree. It reminds you of a little booklet that a child would write for school on his Christmas at home. It's cute, and captures the heart of a child at Christmas when trying to give his parents that special gift. I recommend this Mayer book.

This book was about a little critter that just wanted to make this christmas the BEST one ever for his mom then he went to sleep and santa came that night and he got every thing he wanted even to make his mom happy he even brought all the presents up the stairs so his mom wouldnt have to get out of bed so in the end it was the BEST christmas ever.
Merry Christmas Mom and Dad September 23, 2003 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I loved this book I thought it was so cute!! I loved how Little Critter wanted to get his mom and dad Christmas gifts and no matter what he tried it didn't work out! I'm not between the ages of 4-8 but I thought it was so cute. It could detach kids the lesson of giving, well at least trying to give, but just the way Little Critter wanted to give was cute. Like how he wanted to make Christmas cookies but he kept eating them, or how he didn't want to wake up his parents Christmas morning so he brought all his gifts up stairs to show his parents. Any kids would love this book, I loved it when I was little and I still do! It's a great book. I would recommend it to everyone!
