Better than The Christmas Box - perfect stocking stuffer! October 13, 2003 A friend gave me this book, and I read it in one sitting - could not put it down. Katherine Doyle has had to sell her home, a beautiful Victorian mansion, after her husband passes away. Far from being maudlin, however, this story is sweet and inspirational. Her granddaughter secretly buys the house back to surprise Katherine. This book would resonate with anyone who has had to say goodbye -to either a house or a loved one. The ending is sweet and heartwarming. I've ordered it for everyone in my family - A must for every stocking this Christmas!
