A Waste for Real Ghost Enthusiasts October 26, 2007 Jozelle Whitmire 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
This, along with the author's other Christmas ghost story book, is a complete waste of time and money for those who really enjoy classic, well-written ghost stories. These stories are primarily written for children or teens - the language and semantics are very elementary. Secondly, they are the "sugar-coated" type of story whereby there is always a happy ending. For example, an elderly mother whose son died before Christmas suddenly, and unexpectedly, finds a way to pay his debts. Ho-hum. After reading three of these boring and ridiculous pieces of dribble, I put the book away and didn't even bother with the other one. It makes one wonder just how desperate publishers are these days.
Christmas fun October 6, 2005 Donald J. Wurzelbacher (Cincinnati, OH) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a nice little collection of ghostly stories to read aloud at the fireplace during Christmas Eve as you roast the chestnuts or simply get ready for Christmas day. This is the second volume of a two volume set but you don't need to read the first book to greatly enjoy this volume. I don't always think of Christmas as a time for Ghost Stories, but when I realize that A CHRISTMAS CAROL is my favorite Christmas story which is full of ghosts, I suppose it seems more natural to want to read some more ghostly tales. You won't be disappointed. Have a great, haunting Christmas!
