| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Mary Engelbreit has been inspiring crafters for years with her vibrant, whimsical designs, and her colorful holiday volume Christmas Ideas Make Good Cheer continues the trend. Featuring lots of cross-stitch plus crochet, knitting, painted wood, blanket-stitched appliques, fairly easy sewing, and a bit of polymer clay, the 50 projects all embody Mary's hallmark primary colors and cheerful style. A cross-stitched mitten ornament sports pairs of cherries, her famous "fried egg" flowers bedeck a black velveteen bonnet, a mantelpiece boasts decoupaged wooden letters spelling out Believe. The beautiful cross-stitch projects are somewhat advanced, but most other items can probably be handled by the novice, especially with the extensive directions and clear photos. Mary fans will especially enjoy the fact that every project was inspired by one of her greeting card illustrations, which are featured near the relevant projects. --Amy Handy

Mary at her best February 7, 2004 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Even illustrations and photographs for which no patterns are given are great sources of inspiration. Excellent design, warmth and color throughout. No artsy-craftsy kitsch in this wonderful book. All projects are keepsake quality.
